1540 phone call, surgery is complete, just waiting for him to wake up and see if they can remove breathing tube!

We are waiting in his room for him.

He came up intubated, then they extubated him within a few minutes.

Extubated to 1lpm he sounds slightly diminished on left side.

They bumped him up to

4liters per minute 30% oxygen to hopefully help him keep his airways open.

So happy they were able to extubate!

Only one inguinal hernia on right side.

The ENT Doctor scoped him again to look at vocal chords more thoroughly, left one might be paralyzed.

Possibly because a nerve was damaged during his PDA ligation back in September. One of the risks we were worried about.

The right one can try and compensate and also it can heal.

Just happy surgery went well!
