January 6th 2017 Checked out and gone from Alaska

It was odd to say goodbye to Sitka and friends. It will be missed. We will be back. Someday.

The person checking my bags declared I had the most diverse luggage she has ever seen. A cooler full of frozen breast milk, and a pelican case full of 48lbs of ammo, another with ways to dispense of said 48lbs.

Got a nice thurough frisking going through security. I don’t think the machine liked the glass jar I have that is full of sand. Went through both of my carry on bags. Multiple X-rays on my belongings, swabs for residue. Opened every binder.(I have lots of paperwork). Can’t say I blame them after the happenings of the day. I thanked them for being diligent and doing their job.

It has been 9 days since I have seen RT, it feels like forever!

7 hour layover in Seattle.

I am very excited, when I do arrive. I will have to shower and change before seeing him. Too many sick people on the plane! Glad we are not flying with him!

Hopefully he isn’t angry at me for being gone.

Then we will be off. A nearly 3000 mile journey ahead of us!

A glorious odyssey awaits.
