RT is now on NAVA mode of ventilation! The mode that uses an EDI catheter to read the signals his brain is sending to his diaphragm. NAVA level 2.4.

Came in and he was on 26% oxygen.
A nurse we have never had before in 115 days of life.
She has had a good morning so far.
Said she pointed out when assignments were made that she had never had him. She asked for tips or recommendations, I said, just keep doing what your doing if you’ve had a good day.

RTs due date was today. 11/11. Instead he decided he wanted to meet us early and came 7/21. If he had been more willing to stay inside a bit longer everything would have been different.

RT is on 22% oxygen! Amazing! His PC over peep is lowered by 2. Down to 14. So now his PIP is only 22.

Nurse is one we have had a bunch but she is not feeling good so going to swap with a different nurse. Another one we have never had.

30% oxygen! He is on his belly.
RT had a decent night except for two bigger events and a few smaller ones.
His vent settings weaned. His PC over PEEP has been turned down by 2 from 18 to 16!
This means the peak pressure (PIP) will be 24 instead of 26 on the big breaths the machine gives him.
He seems to be tolerating it well!
