Wake up early, heve to move rooms in the hotel. They are renovating the one we are in.
Moving all our stuff takes a bit.
Head up to the PICU, they turned down his flow to 4LPM from 5! 30% oxygen!
Nurse we have had before!
Today RT is 4 months old! Happy birthday!
He seems to be handling it well!
Nurse last night ended up pulling the ND again and putting a new one down, got an xray. Correct placement, feeds restarted around 0700.
Cares. A poop! Nurse gave him a suppository earlier.
Lunch.
Pulmonologist stops by. Going to wean morphine again today.
He is very happy with how RT is doing!
Last time he saw RT (Friday) he was intubated.
Cares.
We swaddle him up and get RT comfy. Sleeps for almost 4 hours straight.
Morphine weaned.
Cares.
Occupational therapist comes by, we do some stretches.
Then it’s time for RTs 4 month vaccinations!
2 in each leg at the same time. Give him sweets to help him through the pain. Hopefully he doesn’t only want sweets in the future.
He obviously isn’t happy with us about the shots, but he handles it fine. Tough boy!
Give him a dry diaper.
Hang out.
Dinner.
Cares.
Swaddle him up. Mom holds him.
Eventually its time to put him back, now that he is on high flow nasal canula we get to pick him up without help from the nurse to position tubes or anything!
Cares, inguinal hernia is bigger than earlier today. Earlier it was normal.
Shift change, nurse we have had before.
Tonight we have a Respiratory therapist that we have had many times in the NICU the one that came to visit then retaped his face here when he looked like a mummy!
Glad we are getting the same nurses! Probably in another week we will have had all the nurses in the PICU!
Super stable day! RT just keeps impressing us!
RT seems more upset this cares, maybe the wean in the morphine, maybe the steroids. Maybe hernia is not feeling good. Maybe vaccinations are sore.
He’s a tough dude, lots happened todau!
Happy 4 months RT!
It’s gone so fast and yet so slow.
