Head up early to get up to the picu before his next CPAP trial this morning.

We walk in,  he is on 21%, trial already started. About an hour earlier than planned.

Nurse today we have not had. 

She says one of the NICU doctors stopped by.

Tape job done by NICU respiratory therapist last night is still holding up.

4 hours today on intubated CPAP. Today they are going to see if he can be really stable on 30% with these settings.

RT does good!

Occupational therapist and speech therapist(works with teaching eating)  stops by,  nurse asks that they don’t do anything today because he is having to work harder with breathing doing CPAP trial.

RT does not sleep for a good portion of the day.

I give him his binky for almost 2 hours straight.  He does not want to stop.  Getting strong jaw and sucking muscles.

Doctor comes in and we have a chat. Changing morphine to every 4 hours from every 3.

Changing iron supplement to a multivitamin.

Pulmonologist stops by and another chat.

After 4 hours they decide he did so good they can do another 4 hours in about 4 hours.

Lunch ordered from cafeteria delivered to PICU.

Respiratory therapist today is one we have had in the NICU!

They retape his tube. Goes fairly smooth.

Mom goes and grabs dinner for us.
Start next CPAP trial.

Shift change, new nurse, same respiratory therapist as yesterday.

The NICU respiratory therapist that came and taped last night comes and checks on him. Glad people are coming to visit us!

Cares went well today. Juse pee,  he pooped this morning after night nurse gave a suppository.

Potentially a big day tomorrow.
