Enter NICU.  He is on 28% oxygen so that’s awesome!

Nurse is one we have had a bunch but she is not feeling good so going to swap with a different nurse.  Another one we have never had.

Hope she is ok and not going into labor.

Pulmonologist stops by,  we discuss some changes.

Going to stop zopanex(albuterol) and CPT. Keeping Hypertonic saline. Switching cares to 2, 5, 8, 11 due to the times of medications working good that way again.

Not going down on his rate for now, maybe PIP will come down some.

Cares. Just pee.

Lunch.

Back to NICU. We do a tour of the PICU. Potentially moving there in the next couple weeks because we are kind of outgrowing certain aspects of the NICU. In the past kids who needed to would stay in the nicu for as long as needed but a newer thing is transferring to the PICU (pediatric intensive care unit)

The norm to move from picu now is more around 44 weeks.

But who knows.

It means new nurses.

Different environment and attitude there.

In the nicu they try and replicate being inside mom to a certain degree.

When in the PICU they try and move towards trating him like being a full term baby potentially better for his developement.

There is only 6 rooms in the picu and more privicy.  Can also have a parent sleep in the room. More like how Tacoma general was.

Then I deal with some phone calls and business.

Cares. Pee. 153 gram diaper!  2nd dose of lasics worked good!

They retaped his ET tube.

26% oxygen.

Dinner.

NICU.

28%

Shift change.

Primary tonight!

Cares,  just pee. Respiraroty therapist same as last night.  Only bumps him up to 36%, cool! After cares she firms him back down to 26%! Cool maybe she is seeing RT’s healing and doesn’t feel like he has to get that much oxygen anymore.

I appreciate it and it stresses me out less.

RT appreciates it to.

Hang out for a bit.

Eye appointment earlyier tomorrow.  So we head out slightly early.

He is on 26%! Had an awesome day.  Only desats were pretty much from bearing down to push out gas, or big wiggles trying to get away from the ET tube.

Keep on healing!
