He had a relativity uneventful night!

Primary nurse today! When I went in he was on 32%.

Feeds bumped up to 16cc per hour from 15.5.

Approval to modify a binky so he can use it while intubated!

He sucks on it really good! Still likes binky time even while intubated! He has to get his mouth extra wide open though, difficult but he manages.

At noon cares he was bumped up to 34%. Temp is 36.8. Just pee,  he pooped this morning, had to get a suppository though.. cpt suctioned. Started skin early,  my turn.

He stays on 34% though transfer over doesn’t need to get bumped up. I stay more upright rather than recline for the first hour to see how he does.

Then I recline with the nurse ensuring no tubes will snag or come taught. Eventually he needs suctioning.  Oxygen bumped up to 36%.

I hold for 4 hours! Then time for cares and cpt again.

He is making less secretions today than yesterday!

Dinner time. With wife and our friend.

Back to NICU.

He is on 32% again!

Shift change,  nurse tonight that we have not had in a bit but she knows him fairly well.

Mom says her goodnights and sends our friend in.

2000 cares. 36.7. Just pee. CPT, repositioned.

I coax a few smiles out of RT. Our friend is delighted!

Glad she got to see his amazing smiles!

I put his Halloween Superman cape on him.  One of our amazing friends made it for him!

Dr. comes by for rounds. Asks if we can wean his respiration rate, and my opinion. It’s nice when a Dr. asks for my input directly.

Plan to wean his rate if his blood gas is good at 0400 Sunday night labs.

Dr. Loves his Halloween blanket costume! Says her son is superman too!

Nurse says he has awesome costume, plus he has super powers!

Says one other baby in the nicu with costume but RT is winning!

Oxygen weaned to 29%! Nicely done RT! Keep healing those lungs!

He desats and has to get suctioned.  Bumped to 33% oxygen.

Your going to have a good night superbaby!

Friend says her goodbyes and goodnights.

See you tomorrow!
