No calls last night so that is good.

Arrive at NICU, on 48% oxygen.

I was scared it was going to be higher.

New nurse today…

She says he has been having relatively stable day.

Sounds like the steroids, blood transfusion, PRVC, and prayers might be helping.

He seems more awake though.

The difference is that today when he moves he doesn’t desat every time.

Temp 37.3 a Little warm, just pee.

She mentions a sapository soon. Turns out the poop last night around 2100 wasn’t charted, so it looks like the last one was at 4.

I tell her he had one last night. Holding off on sapository for now.

CPT has been ordered.

After cares mom mentions that he doesn’t like high sating and can be weaned sometimes even though it doesn’t look like it. She weans him some.

When she arrived this morning he was on 30% for  a little So that’s good that his night improved.

Around noon he is on 40%.

Day seems more stable.

1500 CPT, and suctioned. He handles it well.

Throughout the day he has been pushing up lime green bile through his vent tube.  Apparently pretty normal and not concerning.

Creeps up on oxygen a little.

Shift change he is on 50% oxygen again. Mostly just because he requires more around cares.

Pretty stable day though.

Oncoming nurse tonight is one that had him a few nights after eye surgery.

We hang out,  do cares at 2000, cpt RT doesn’t like the vibration this time and gags on his et tube whenever it is on him.

Last night he desat every time he gagged like that.  Tonight not so bad,  just gagging, while hard to watch, atleast he isn’t dropping every time like last night.

During repositioning he coughs or gags not sure which,  and I can see fluid fill the ET tube.  I mention it incase they don’t see it, they did. They quickly suction it out.

He desats a bit.  But recovers fairly quick with some help.

The respiratory therapist  has not ever seen a ET tube fill with fluid like that before.

Better out than in. Glad he managed to push it up the et tube!

Must have worked it loose from cpt and coughing and repositioning?

After repositioned and settling down he starts to high sat!

Weaned to 45%.

Say our goodnights.

Sleep tight little man!

I think Stablessing is an excellent word for today.  After a day like yesterday and last night.
