September 22 2016 100th post!

Today’s weight on the board is 1717! He broke back through the 1700 gram berrier!

9 weeks old today!

The nurse we have today is one of his primaries!

His oxygen percent is at 21%! Great job RT! Not any big effects or regression from vaccine yet! His last steroid dose was at 0500 this morning too,  no more dexamethazone for now!  There is a chance if he regreases we will have to start it back up again. Hopefully we won’t have to,  due to the side effects, but it was definately the right choice to help him progress. It is promising that he didn’t start requiring higher amounts of oxygen while weaning the steroid though!   Continue reading “September 22 2016 100th post!”

Yesterday’s cranial unsound showed normal progression of his brain bleed. The damage has been done already,  but we don’t know what it will effect, we are just glad it’s not getting worse.  The midline shift is slightly lessened, this is a good thing.  The brain is closer to where it should be in the skull now.

Enter NICU,  oxygen is at 24% awesome!  Nurse on today is one of his primaries!

He had a calm night. A few smaller events

Weight on the board is 1635, a gain of 20 grams ofcourse this is if his weight has been accurate.  Continue reading “September 20th 2016”

Weight on the board is 1615, a gain from 1580. I still don’t trust these weights.

He is on 27% oxygen. Nurse today is again one that has not had him yet, but she is familiar with him. She is the one that made his awesome one month poster.

She tells us he had the cranial ultrasound this morning.  He handled it really well.  He has been dealing with cares well, and he finally had a big poop this morning again,  it seems he has been working one out every morning lately!  Good boy.  Continue reading “September 19th 2016”

RT is at 24% oxygen!  The nurse on today is one of his primaries!  She tells us he had a poop earlier!  He had a good stable night, his temp has been fluctuating though.  Cranial ultrasound scheduled for today to check on his brain bleed and make sure no unknown issues are arising.

His ventilator settings have been weaned slightly,  NAVA level .2 lower.  (The amount the signal his brain is sending to his diaphragm is multiplied by, dictating how big of a breath he is taking) he is doing good with the change.  Continue reading “September 18th 2016”

Today we have moved back into room 1, it has been painted purple.  We have moved one spot over from where we first were when RT was born,  in the nice corner window spot! One of RT’s good neighbor babies was in this spot.  Hopefully he is finally free of the hospital and thriving at home now!

Weight on the board is 1580. A loss of 60 grams, not sure I believe it,  he is working harder to breathe, and more agitated so I guess it is possible but hopefully just a different weight because of different ventilator,  head gear and tube. Hopefully he isn’t loosing weight like this it would be bad. Continue reading “September  17th  2016”
