Wife woke up and started laundry this morning after pumping. After laundry is done, up to the NICU we go.RT is on 38% oxygen, same vent settings, stable blood gas at 0400. 1610 grams on the board! One of his primary nurses today! It was a good night, stable throughout mid 40% for the majority of the night.
Then a quick lunch, back up to NICU.
Pump, show the nurse the video of RT smiling after his milk sponge on a stick, we laugh. Too cute!
He desats, angry face then relaxed face then angry face. We reswaddle him. Angry face, relaxed face. Maybe he’s pooping?
He starts to high sat 100%… Maybe he made more room for his lungs! We will find out at the next diaper change.
Then we are able to wean his oxygen percent. 36% 34%
1345 down to 32% oxygen.
Sounds like the transport team from Mary bridge will leave from down there around 0900. So we have to be packed and ready to roll from hospital
1400 cares, temp is 37.1. No poo, but he has a completely saturated diaper. I guess it is 1/10th of his weight, the nurse weighs it, an impressive 116 grams!! 1/13th of his weight!
I change it out and then it’s time for skin to skin with mom!
Transition is smooth! Yay for cuddles.
Oxygen need slightly up like we needed for skin to skin yesterday.
