After only a few hours of sleep 0500 wake up shower, wife pumps, then we clean pump supplies.
I wake up extremely anxious feeling this morning.
Then up to the NICU, RT is at 30% oxygen! Lowest he has been in weeks! Snug looking all swaddled up. Nurse tells us how much secretions they got out during repositioning for his bath! He got pampered! Clean baby, smells better now! He looks exhausted and comfortable!

More weaning on his ventilator! Respiratory rate is down to 20 from 25. Pip down to 32 from 34.
We pull all the frozen milk and 8 large ice packs from the freezerfor shipment. Package it in zip locks, and insulation. Essentially it’s a box full of ice padding and insulation. It should make it still frozen.
0650 Peep gets turned to 7 from 8.
Oxygen turned up to 33%.
I’m nervous about weaning his pip. Scared we will loose ground on his lung recruitment. Blood gas and oxygen needs will dictate if we need another X-ray to check.
Praying we can keep atleast this trend.
Thank you nurse, I pray your birth goes smoothly! Maybe we will get to see a picture of your new baby someday.
We head to airport to see off our friend and check our milk through baggage. Traffic isn’t bad on the way to airport but looks horrible headed back into Seattle.
