He is 4 weeks old today! 1235 grams! 27 and 6/7 gestation age.

When we arrived we were surprised he was having another cranial ultrasound. There was some concern over his head growing over the last week. Scared. Hopefully it is just him growing or his swelling.

He tolerated it well. He Only got angry at the beginning. We are waiting on results. Head growing Could indicate a large increase in pressure.

Starting Aminophylline back up today. And stopping caffeine again.

So they are going to flush his picc line, do the Aminophylline, then flush again. That way his line doesn’t clot due to the bad interactions on his meds. So hopefully this doesn’t mess up his PICC line and the meds help his throat and lungs out. One of the potential side effects can increase urine output. Maybe it will help his swelling go down too!

His eyes were really goopy and stuck shut so mom and I cleaned them out. I cleane the ultrasound gel off his head some too while I was at it. He can open his eyes a little now. He seems happier to see again!

Still waiting to hear what the dr today wants to do about the culture that came back on the vent tube that was positive for coliform. He isn’t presenting that he has an infection. But dr yesterday was confused by it and seemed to think culture was old and he had been extubated yesterday morning.
