His weight on the board now reads 1160.

He has had to have his vent settings turned up a bit, they will likely do another blood transfusion again tonight because his red blood cell count is low again.
He is still extremely puffy from the edema.  It seems to have migrated slightly, less around his eyes,  more in his cheeks.

They upped his feeds to 9 cc now!

He has not been pooping though. So they gave him a suppository, next diaper change he had a massive poo I was so impressed I almost took a picture to share with you all. Hopefully he can do it by himself this next time.

Yea and now a 2nd poop blew out the back. Had to change out his bedding. Moved to over sized diapers. They go further up his back and get folded in the front, so that his temp monitor probe and sensors are not covered.

He had an IV line in his left foot,  on Sp02 sensor on his right.  Changing a poopy diaper on a wiggly legged boy with a dangling IV on one leg, and a wire attached to the other is quite the task.

Thankfully RT’s mom jumped in and gave me some assistance. We make a good team.

Important thing is nothing got on his IV line.

2054 Starting transfusion. Feeding stopped again.

Vent settings adjustment, they took his peep down to 6. They are trying to ween him down. Sounds like they talking about trying and extubate in the next few days, he leaks really bad around his current vent tube. So it might be for the best. Plus they need to change tubes soon because it’s nasty. We don’t need him getting pneumonia or another infection.

Hopefully if they extubate he can get one of the non invasive vent systems. If they have to re-intubate hopefully they can move up a size and have less of a leak.

Worried it will go like last time…

Good talk with the wife.

Horrible nightmares. All night long.
