On the board his weight is 1120 grams now.

They did another cranial unsound, to monitor his PVH-IVH it shows “dilatation” of the ventricles. I had to ask the Dr. What dilatation meant.  My understanding is this Means the clotting in his brain is trying to escape and they have to expand to do so. So hopefully it doesn’t clog, because then we introduce other issues and will potentially need a stint in his head to relieve pressure. This would be indicated by rapidly enlarging ventricles and an increase in head size.  They continue to monitor his head circumference closely.

He is more swollen today, it doesn’t look like he can open his eyes because his face is so swollen. Poor guy.

They gave his little leg another IV and giving him a diuretic to hopefully help get rid of some of the water weight.

His neck was so swollen when they moved him yesterday I noticed his  EDI catheter had wrapped around his neck and was hiding in his neck folds. Thankfully he didn’t mind much,  because he was high-sating at 100.

1900 Just got to do 3 hours of skin to skin. Before we did skin to skin his oxygen percent was at 34%. After skin to skin and after cares we were able to have him at 21%! The power of human contact!

He also peed 14 grams! He pees more while laying on me haha!  Maybe I help relax him.

Tonightwhen we weighed him his weight is down to 1110 so getting rid of some of that swelling! Keep on peeing!

Enough swelling is down he could open his eyes too!

Good way to end a rough day.

Just keep being you RT!
