August 2 2016 morning

We wake up,  have breakfast.

Pump

Clean pump supplies

Pack, and check out.

Several loads to the car later we are on our way to the hospital.

RT had a relatively uneventful night!  Bedside, it is time to pump again. Pumping done.

Time for morning cares! Temp is a healthy 36.7. Then the diaper change, I manage to make this one a one diaper change!  I’m getting better at changing his tiny diapers through the arm holes on his incubator.  Mom helps by containing him and his exploring hands, they seem to almost have minds of their own.

We hang out for a while then it’s time for lunch. We eat at the hospital cafeteria, it’s actually some of the best hospital food I have eaten.  They have several stations so that we don’t get sick of eating here.  They have a rotating menu at one, a burrito/taco station,  a sandwich/burger station and a salad bar. Then we are back to RT.

Time for his mid day cares. Then it’s time to meet with chaplain, we head down to the lobby.  Reception in hospitals always seems spotty.  15 minutes later my phone tells me I have missed a text.  Somehow we missed each other, he has made his way to the NICU.

He greets us with open arms,  he was here for us last August.  It’s too bad we only see him at times of need. We have a nice talk. He is one of RT’S  honorary grandparents. Good hugs too!

Our coastie family really is incredible!

Each day is a blessing, every night a miracle
